Forkin' Around
Forkin' Around- Kymber Miller
This image was created by looking at some inspirations within the internet and social media. I found different compositions of forks and spoons that I wanted to try a few for this assignment's objective. I began with a singular pair (fork & spoon) but found the composition very boring so I added two more pairs to help with the composition of the overall photograph. Fun fact, balancing spoons on forks is much easier than balancing forks on spoons!

Flare Bugs

The challenges I experienced with this photograph were the reflections themselves. I had an idea that included my reflection within the center or focal point of the CDs, but that idea did not go accordingly. So, I decided to focus on the colors that reflect/polarize off the disks to make them look like flares. But once I edited and cropped the photograph, the disks now look like flare-like bugs! I also used an orange gel to get the colors to pop out in the polarizations.

This was the least challenging of my photographs surprisingly enough. The main challenge was trying not to use a high ISO setting as well as get the contrast I wanted between my subject and its surroundings. I went a bit heavy-handed on the editing, but I think the contrast between the subject and reflection, along with the exposure, tells a powerful story. Shoutout to mom for taking the bite of the apple and my set up shot <3
